Cookies

01

In short

Veylyn uses technical cookies, the ones the site can’t work without: keeping you signed in to the creator area, remembering that you typed the right code, remembering the language. We use no advertising, profiling or third-party cookies, and we don’t follow you to other sites.

The law doesn’t ask for consent for technical cookies. The only statistics cookie (veylyn_vid) starts only if, on a creator’s page, you choose “Accept”; “Decline” weighs the same and you see the page either way.

02

Veylyn’s cookies

veylyn_session — keeps you signed in to the creator area. Lasts 30 days, or until you sign out.

veylyn_gate — remembers that you typed the right code, so the creator’s page stays open. Lasts 12 hours; if the creator changes the code it stops working at once.

veylyn_lang — the site’s language (English or Italian). Lasts a year.

veylyn_oauth — exists only for the ten minutes of signing in with Google, to check that Google’s answer is the one you asked for.

veylyn_tz — your browser’s time zone (for example Europe/Rome), in the creator area only, so the numbers count days and hours on your clock. Lasts a year.

veylyn_consent — remembers whether you accepted or declined statistics on creators’ pages, so we don’t ask again. Lasts 6 months.

veylyn_admin — for the service’s administrator only, after the second factor. Lasts two hours.

03

Statistics, only with your consent

veylyn_vid — a random identifier that appears only if, on a creator’s page, you accept statistics. It is used to count unique visitors and, with the kind of device, goes into the creator’s aggregated numbers. No ads, no fingerprinting. Lasts 13 months; if you decline or withdraw consent from the “Statistics” link at the bottom of the page, it is deleted.

04

Browser storage

veylyn_age (session storage) — the 18+ confirmation before a page; gone when you close the tab.

veylyn_cookies_ok (local storage) — remembers that you closed the cookie notice.

veylyn_scroll (session storage) — on the page for creators, where you were, to find it again if you reload; gone when you close the tab.

05

Content from other sites

A creator can put a video or a song from YouTube, Vimeo, Spotify or SoundCloud on her page. That player is loaded by the site that provides it, under its own cookie rules. For YouTube we use the “privacy-enhanced” address (youtube-nocookie.com).

06

How to remove them

You can delete cookies in your browser settings. Delete veylyn_session and you are signed out of the creator area; delete veylyn_gate and you’ll type the code again.
